About THE Animal HOUSE
Denise’s Animal House is a companion boarding and grooming facility. We are dedicated to the complete care of your pet when you must be separated from them. We specialize in dog boarding and cat boarding, but also care for other caged animals. Services are offered in a climate controlled, home-like facility. We are members of International Boarding and Pet Services Association. We have staff trained in Pet First Aid. We have staff board tested as Certified Pet Care Technicians.
We maintain a commitment to quality care at the highest standard for our guests.
Our Experience
Founded in October 2000 in the basement of Denise's home, the demand for companion boarding soon outgrew the limited space. The kennel design incorporates the research from attending seminars nationwide on building a boarding facility, management of sound, sanitation, and fields, and touring other facilities in those cities. The kneel was constructed in 2004, and expanded in size in 2016, which resulted in two separate kennel spaces providing small and manageable groups to keep the staff to boarder ratio low. Each space has its own floor heat, UV light purification, micro and macro filters, and air conditioning system. The entire facility is monitored for fire and unlawful entry protection.
Under New Ownership
Denise recently retired to live the grandma life, and Denise's Animal House was purchased by the local Thomas family early 2025. The Thomas family has existing experience in dog boarding, owning a boarding and daycare facility just 8 minutes away in Waynesville. We do want to ensure you that although we are under new ownership we maintain a commitment to the same quality of care Denise had in place. Staffing remains the same, groomers are unchanged.
